Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 January 2026
These terms apply to all orders, workshop bookings and use of the website cicikim.com, operated by Cicikim B.V., Dompleane 1, 8605 CP Sneek, Netherlands ("Cicikim"). By placing an order or booking a workshop you agree to these terms. Dutch law applies.
1. Custom knitting orders
How an order is confirmed. Submitting the contact form is not a binding order. An order is confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation by email, including the agreed specification, price and estimated completion date.
Specifications. Custom orders are made to your specifications — yarn type, colour, size and any design notes you share with us. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide. We will ask clarifying questions before starting work.
Pricing. Prices are quoted individually for each custom piece because material costs, complexity and size vary significantly. The price agreed in the order confirmation is final. We do not add charges after confirmation unless you request changes to the specification.
Lead times. Typical lead time for a custom piece is 2–6 weeks depending on workload and complexity. We will give you an estimate at confirmation. We are a small studio — there are limits to how many pieces we can produce at once, and we will not accept an order we cannot realistically complete on time.
Changes and cancellations. You may request changes to a specification before we begin knitting, at no extra cost. Once knitting has started, material changes require a new price agreement. If you need to cancel after work has begun, we charge for materials used and work completed to that point.
Payment. We invoice by email. Payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date. We accept bank transfer (IBAN). Goods are shipped or ready for collection only after payment is received.
2. Workshop bookings
Booking confirmation. A workshop place is reserved once you receive a booking confirmation from us by email.
Cancellation by you. Cancellations made more than 7 days before the workshop date receive a full refund. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable, but you may transfer your place to another person — please let us know their name in advance.
Cancellation by us. If we need to cancel a workshop (for example, due to illness or insufficient bookings), we will notify you as early as possible and issue a full refund.
What's included. Workshop listings state clearly what materials and tools are provided. Participants are expected to arrive on time. We cannot guarantee individual attention if a participant arrives significantly late.
3. Delivery and collection
Finished pieces can be collected from our studio in Sneek, or shipped within the Netherlands and to most EU countries. Shipping costs are agreed at the time of order. Risk transfers to you when the carrier accepts the package. For collection, risk transfers at handover.
If a parcel is lost or damaged in transit, please contact us within 14 days of the expected delivery date. We will work with the carrier to resolve the issue.
4. Returns and quality
Each piece is made by hand and inspected before dispatch. Natural fibres such as wool and alpaca have inherent variation in texture and colour that is not a defect. If a piece has a genuine fault — a dropped stitch, a seam failure, a clear construction error — contact us within 14 days of receipt and we will repair or replace it at our cost.
Because custom pieces are made to your specification, we cannot accept returns for reasons of changed preference. Ready-made pieces (if any are offered) follow the Dutch consumer returns rules: 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of delivery.
5. Care of garments
Care instructions are included with each piece. Following them is the buyer's responsibility. Damage caused by incorrect washing or drying is not covered by our quality guarantee.
6. Intellectual property
All written content, photography and design on cicikim.com is the property of Cicikim B.V. You may share links to our pages. You may not reproduce our text or images without written permission.
7. Limitation of liability
Our liability for any claim arising from an order or workshop is limited to the amount you paid for that order or workshop. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Dutch courts. EU consumers may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
